Dec 21, 2007 · Hi. I am really having trouble connecting to the internet on my ps3. I have put the ethernet cable into the back of my computer and into the back of my ps3. I dont have a router, do i need 1? I have a modem but i am unsure if i can use this. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
If your computer has a network card in it you could use ICS (Internet connection sharing) on it by plugging the ethernet connection you bought into back of PC. This means ones you configure it though you will need to have the PC on to be able to have the PS3 connected online. Your MAC address has nothing to do with the internet. It's your IP address that you need to access the internet. Connect the Ethernet cable to you modem from your PS3, then go to network Setting Note: PlayStation Network Sign-in will fail when testing your Internet connection. To access PlayStation Network you need to sign in with your account details. To do this, head to [Settings] > [PlayStation Network/Account Management] > [Sign In], or create a new account. You can not share your phone wireless internet with your PS3. The PS3 will search for a WiFi connection and if one is found it can be used to connect to the internet.
